post two of my “all about the music” inktober 2016 drawings. (post one is here) Days 07 and 08 were skipped due to a bad case of illness, though I plan on making them up eventually! though I might end up putting them on ship tumblr so look for them there, I guess

* unfortunately there aren’t any reliable translations for this song that I could find, which is a shame because it’s a gorgeously heartbreaking song and one of my favorite lyrics ever. maybe when things are a little less hectic, I’ll take a crack at translating it properly

I’m doing inktober again and realized I should post my entries somewhere else than just twitter, so here are days one through five

my theme this year is “all about the music”: each day uses a different song as a prompt, with a few extra challenges along the way (Wed. is “Wayback” where I draw an old OC, Fri. is “Fanart” and Saturday is “Ships” because I am weak okay let me live)

April 4, 1937: The congestion in Manhattan on this Sunday afternoon was not your typical mix of cars and trucks, but a parade of pachyderms, in town for the Ringling Brothers circus show. “The parade rumbled and clattered across the 125th Street Bridge, and from each corner children cried, ‘Hey, what’s in there?’ ” The Times reported from Uptown, where covered wagons containing the circus’s entertainments collected before the shows. “They pointed to canvas covered wagon No. 57, and it seemed a shame to yell back, ‘property,’ which would have been infinitely too prosaic, though true. So the answer was ‘lions,’ ‘tigers,’ ‘King Kong’ and ‘Mickey Mouse’ alternately, and in most cases the questioners were properly thrilled.” Photo: The New York Times

At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA.

At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job.

Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42.

Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow.

Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it.

Never tell yourself you missed your chance.

Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough.

You can do it. Whatever it is.

Thank you so much for adding older ages on here. Every time I see a post like this, it only goes from 18 to 25.
